SMC Carrier Films

JoBeqs Limited is pleased to offer a range of Sheet Moulding Compound carrier films suitable for standard SMC production and specialist films for more demanding and/or modified process applications:

Standard SMC Film

Marma Polkie Folie is a privately owned food and industrial packaging company located in Poland. Marma was established in 1991 and now has 800 employees and annual sales of €80 million. For more information visit: www.marma.com.pl

In 2008 Marma and JoBeqs Limited collaborated to produce a high quality, multilayer, coextruded PE/PA/PE, blown SMC carrier film. The grade most widely employed is TianFilm™ PA23SLP a yellow film that combines excellent physical properties with good flatness and excellent styrene barrier, at a competitive price.

Monomide™ SMC Film

Some high volume applications require the SMC to be supplied in jumbo rolls weighing up to 1,300 Kg. Mould charges are not weighed meaning that the area weight of the SMC (Kg/m2) must be very consistent. In order to help prevent jumbo rolls from distorting carrier films with very low tensile modulus are employed. Monomide film was co-developed with a leading European film manufacturer specifically for these applications.

Monomide film is based on nylon 6 with release additives and is oriented in the machine direction which gives amazing physical properties - at just 19µ thick Monomide film has up to 3 times higher tensile modulus than normal coex SMC films.

Special SMC Films

Particular SMC applications require films with different performance criteria in terms of either chemical compatibility or physical properties. PA23SLP film will meet 90% of customers needs but special applications may require an alternate solution. JoBeqs Limited is able to offer a range of products for non-standard SMC's:

 Beccalon™ PET film

 Dartek® C101, nylon 66 film

 Dartek® O-401, oriented nylon 66 film

 Beccalon™ OPP film

Black PE overwrap film for UV SMC applications

Aluminium coated, black PE overwrap film
